Alexis Willingham, DVM

Dr. Willingham grew up on a dairy farm in the North East Texas town of Sulphur Springs, where she was exposed to veterinary medicine at an early age.  Both of her parents and her younger sister have been in the veterinary profession.  She also has a sister that is involved in canine genetics research.  Through vet school, she had the opportunity to do a summer rotation in Ghana, West Africa, setting up an animal welfare society and was able to complete her externship at a veterinary practice in Orbost, Australia.  After graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, she worked several years in a mixed animal practice north of Denton taking care of both large and small animals followed by a small animal practice in Little Elm.  She and her husband, Joe, now live in Prosper with their three young boys.  Dr. Willingham's veterinary interests include internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery, and endocrinology.  She is also passionate about the importance of preventative medicine, feline medicine, and senior pet health.

Veterinarian

Bailey

Bailey was born in Lubbock, Texas where she went to Texas Tech University with her human Amanda.  She was born August 15th 2001 and spent her younger years playing with anything and everything.  Her favorite game was attacking the pencil that Amanda was using to do Calculus homework.  Now that she has aged, and her crazy kitten days are behind her, she mostly enjoys laying around, sun bathing, and licking plastic bags.  Bailey loves to eat, but she is watching her figure with the help of the PTAH staff.  Long hair or short hair?  With Bailey that is the question.  You never know when she will be shaved.  Bailey has had the Official Greeter role at PTAH since 2013, and she truly enjoys her job and the people that she gets to meet.  She isn't as thrilled about meeting the other animals, but as long as they give her space, she doesn't mind.  Just a warning, Bailey loves purses and she may try to get into yours.  If you are ever in the lobby and Bailey isn't greeting you, feel free to ask for her and she will be happy to come say hello!
